Learning Events

Washington County School District offers many events and expericences to help your student enrich their learning.  Not all schools participate in every event; contact your school for information about events offered there and contacts for those events.  You may contact the district event coordinators listed on the fliers below for more information as well.  

Storytelling Festival

Each year students in grades 3-5 sharpen their skills and perform their favorite stories in front of a live audience. Geography Challenge

Students in grades 4-6 compete in this challenging "Geo Bee."  The district event will be held March 23rd at Sunrise Ridge Intermediate.  Contact Laura Zwahlen (This email address is being protected from spambots. Intermediate Science Fair

Sixth grade students are invited to investigate phenomena and report their findings at the intermediate science fair.  There will be no district fair in 2017-2018--check back for details regarding the fair in 2018-2019.

Science Olympiad

Teamwork is a required skill in most scientific careers today, and Science Olympiad encourages group learning by designing events that forge alliances.  Students in grades 8-12 are invited to participate on a team.  Contact Ryan Christiansen for information--(This email address is being protected from spambots. History Day

The history fair creates an understanding and appreciation of history while developing necessary 21st-century skills.  Students in grades 4-12 are encouraged to participate.  The district event will be held March 3rd at Sunrise Ridge Intermediate.  Contact Krista White (This email address is being protected from spambots. Elementary Science Fair

Spelling Bee

Student in grades 3-8 are challenged to showcase their spelling ability.  The district event will be held February 23rd at Legacy Elementary.
